I am not a big gambler, (obviously! kasi barat, haha!), but I do enjoy playing an occasional game and having fun at the casino. One time, I think we spent a record 18 hours inside one!
J and I were there at Solaire the next day it opened, and I really enjoy the nice amenities and pretty interiors. It really has one of the best casino interiors in the country that I have seen – luxurious and spacious and classy. Unfortunately, there is no picture-taking inside the casino, so no pictures 🙁
WORLD POKER TOUR
Solaire Resort & Casino is a premier gaming destination in Manila, and for the second time in a row, was chosen to host the World Poker Tour National Philippines Festival. The Season XIV (14) of the World Poker Tour is going to be from January 2 – 8, 2016. Aside from the Main Event, there will also be a Super High Roller event, featuring a USD $200,000 buy-in, the largest in World Poker Tour history! Expect to see some of the world’s best poker players and some of the world’s wealthiest poker enthusiasts. I have an urge to go watch God of Gamblers now…

Everyone is welcome to join the World Poker Tour events – don’t let the $200,000 buy-in for high rollers intimidate you! There are events where the buy-in is as low as $180. The main event buy-in is $1,650. As I understand it, buy-in is like the entrance fee to join the game. I’m not a professional gambler so I’m not really familiar with all these terms

FREE POKER ROLL
After the press conference, we were invited to the Poker Room where we got to play some poker! Everyday, starting at 2pm onwards, you can go to the Poker Room and get a free roll (free play). We were given some free chips to play with. If you win, you get a free entry to the weekly game (with P 100,000 prize), and if you win again, you get to go on to the next round with a P 1 Million prize).
We had a great time even though we were poker neophytes!

With these big names in poker, I am so excited for this event! I feel like these kinds of things only happen in Vegas, but I’m so happy that we get to witness it here in Manila soon! Woohoo for Manila becoming the next Vegas!

SOLAIRE’S HOTEL IS OPEN!
Apparently, Solaire’s hotel is already in operation! I saw a lot of guests with their luggage near the casino area. I actually have not seen the hotel part of Solaire since we have mostly been staying at the casino area and I did not know that there were other places to explore… apparently they have an awesome swimming pool, and even have a theatre big enough for concerts and such.
However, having explored some of the food options in Solaire, I can say the food at Solaire is really, really good and top quality – even the food court food is delicious!
