The internet is all aflutter over this dress.
To me, it is quite obviously BLUE & BLACK. No if or buts about it.
But some people are claiming that the dress is Gold & White.
The debate has been ranging since yesterday, and even Taylor Swift has weighed in on #TheDress debate.
I don’t understand this odd dress debate and I feel like it’s a trick somehow. I’m confused and scared. PS it’s OBVIOUSLY BLUE AND BLACK

The story was broken by Buzzfeed – a Tumblr user posted the picture of the dress and asked
“guys please help me – is this dress white and gold, or blue and black? Me and my friends can’t agree and we are freaking the fuck out”
Since then, everyone from Mindy Kaling and Julianne Moore have given their piece.
As of this writing, the internet is still divided, with various internet polls showing different percentages of people voting for BLUE & BLACK vs WHITE & GOLD.
This makes me wonder if half of the world population is actually walking around colorblind but are unaware that they are?
I personally see BLUE & BLACK, but I will be asking my color-blind friend what he sees. I really can’t imagine how anyone can mistake the dress for WHITE & GOLD, it’s so far off!

I’m really seeing WHITE & GOLD!! It’s so so obvious to me that it looks White & Gold!! As in I can’t imagine how anyone else could see it as Blue & Black D:
Hi Gia! I missed you!
I guess it just shows how different we all are when we perceive colors. I see it as a light, faded, shiny blue with dark brown / blackish lace. Someone should make a study of why we all see this dress’s colors differently 🙂
it has to do the color of your screen where you are looking at it too (screen on desktop or mobile can be set to cooler tones vs darker tons. vs contrast)
Yes, that’s possible 🙂 but upon more reading, it seems like it has to do with how people interpret the picture —
people who see blue & black – their brains compensates for the bad lighting (removes it in their mind) to make a conclusion about how the dress would look like in reality if the bad lighting wasn’t there
people who see white & gold – their brains don’t remove the bad lighting (see it “as is”) but instead “adds” it to the picture, by thinking that the dress is a white & gold dress that is cast in a dark, bluish light or shadow
I see white and gold, on my home and office computer. Even when it was shown on 24 Oras and TV Patrol. But they say it’s actual color is black and blue.

Hello Mody, yes, the actual color is blue & black 🙂 isn’t it amazing how our minds work? and this shows how each person perceives things differently
