Twinkies
Did a quick visit to S&R yesterday and I finally, finally managed to get some Twinkies!
This was at the Macapagal Ave. branch beside the DFA. I had my passport renewal personal appearance yesterday, so, two birds, one stone! 
I know Twinkies have been available at S&R for about a month now, but I just never got the chance to buy some because they run out so quickly! Of course I’ve heard about Twinkies – food shows sometimes feature deep-fried Twinkies, among other American Fair staples; but the movie that made it really stick in my mind was the brilliantly funny Zombieland. If you haven’t seen it, do yourself a favor and watch it! It’s a zombie movie parody, but it’s actually funny. It stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Bill Murray! You know how much we, as the audience, enjoy a film when it feels like the cast is also having fun while filming it? It’s like that. It’s a very lighthearted comedy, and it’s not scary at all, even if there are zombies.

This is how a Twinkie looks like inside. I’m posting this for those who are curious. I’ve been curious, too, and I’ve always wondered why Twinkies get such a cult following.
After tasting it, I can understand why people like it. When I opened the box, I could already smell fried goodness. I know Twinkies are baked, but it sure smells like it was fried. It was also generous with the white marshmallow filling.

Get 2 loaves for only P169.95! They actually last a long time if properly refrigerated. They make good desserts, snacks, merienda, and even breakfast. Sometimes I just slice them to eat, but sometimes I also use them to make desserts like trifles. I like these because they are moist and have a strong chocolate flavor. I also like adding some cubes to ice cream, but my favorite is having a slice of this with some whipped cream.
