We usually drink our milk teas and related beverages as indulgences — because they are creamy, sweet and delicious. But FRUIT ENZYME drinks are not only delicious, but also have health benefits, too!
What are Fruit Enzyme Drinks?
You’re familiar with drinking Apple Cider Vinegar water and its health benefits, right? This is the same thing, only leveled up!
Instead of just fermenting apple, True Boss makes fruit vinegar using plum, cranberry, apple, grape and peach. These become the “Fruit Enzyme Base” of your drink. You can choose to have plum, cranberry, apple, grape or peach fruit enzyme base for your drink.
Fruit Enzymes are made from fermented fruits and vegetables that are rich in amino acids and proteins. They create chemical reactions in the body that speed up the rate of metabolism to help support life. When these enzymes are consumed, it helps your body perform very important tasks which includes building muscles, destroying toxins, and breaking down food particles and fat during digestion. They also fight major diseases like cancers and heart diseases. TRUE BOSS
True Boss PH is the first and only milk-tea-shop-like establishment that sells fruit enzyme drinks in the Philippines. The fruit enzyme drinks can be considered their specialty. Each drink served is all-natural from fruits and vegetables with all ingredients certified by SGS.
It is a popular chain that originated in Tainan, Taiwan. You know how the Taiwanese can be crazy about their health drinks! Fruit enzymes are also starting to become all the rage in Singapore and Malaysia, as well.
THE DRINKS
So far, these are the drinks that I have tried:
- Fruit Enzyme Plus -> Plum Enzyme with Mango & Strawberry Toppings
- Peach Mango Pine -> Peach Enzyme & Alpine Tea with Mango Topping
- Fruit Enzyme with Basil Seeds -> Apple Enzyme with Basil Seeds
- Fruit Enzyme with Pearl -> Cranberry Enzyme with Pearl
- Fruit Enzyme with Aloe -> Grape Enzyme with Aloe
- Taro Fresh Milk
How do they taste?
I love them, but I can understand how it can be too sour for some. I am used to drinking apple cider vinegar water so the “sourness” was just normal for me. I found the tartness refreshing, actually 🙂 Other family members who are not used to drinking sour drinks found it too sour though. But the younger, more health-conscious family members enjoyed it.
Compared to apple cider vinegar, the acidity in the fruit enzyme drinks weren’t as strong, so I didn’t worry about my teeth like I do when drinking apple cider vinegar water. The fruit enzyme drinks also weren’t as sour as apple cider vinegar.
The drinks also come with toppings that make drinking something sour delicious!
What made me love this drink more is because I am pretty sure that the fruit enzyme bases used by True Boss are fresher (with fresher enzymes, too) compared to my raw apple cider vinegar that has been sitting on the supermarket shelf, and eventually, my kitchen, for who knows how long.

When ordering, you can choose from 5 fruit enzyme bases (plum, cranberry, apple, grape and peach) and several toppings.
You can also choose to get a fruit enzyme tea, where they add your choice of tea to the fruit enzyme base. The fruit enzyme teas aren’t as sour as the plain fruit enzyme drinks because the tea dilutes the sourness.
You can then add Extras like additional Fruit Enzyme, Pearl, Fruit, Basil Seed, Cheese Milk Foam 🙂 They have a new EXTRA that I really like — it’s ALOE (not yet on the menu but already available for your orders. It’s an additional P30 for extra Aloe).
Although it’s not listed on the menu, you can request to adjust the sugar level to your preference 🙂
Health Benefits?
I was feeling very bloated (side effect of monthly visitor) and after drinking the fruit enzymes, I burped a lot and felt lighter the next day. I do feel a difference. In fact, I feel that it has a more pronounced effect on me than when I drink apple cider vinegar water. I noticed the difference within a day.
It’s a much nicer way to alkalize and detoxify your body than drinking apple cider vinegar 🙂
My recommendations:
- I really liked the Fruit Enzyme Plus -> Plum Enzyme with Mango & Strawberry Toppings – you can’t go wrong with a mango & strawberry combo! This one just has a hint of sourness
- Also try the Peach Mango Pine -> Peach Enzyme & Alpine Tea with Mango Topping – it tastes like Peach Mango Pie! This one is barely sour.
- The Fruit Enzyme with Aloe -> Grape Enzyme with Aloe seems like a simple, classic combo – clean & refreshing. This one is sour.
All the other flavors were also delicious but the ones above are my top picks 🙂
You can keep these sour /tea drinks for 1-2 days in the refrigerator if you order fruit toppings and aloe. Just avoid anything milky and avoid pearls which harden when refrigerated. I highly recommend the aloe. This way, you can order a few days’ worth of fruit enzyme drinks para sulit yung Grab 🙂
