This was my first time to go to the Oishi Snacktacular and it was fun!
In case you haven’t gone yet this year, it’s until tomorrow, Sunday, July 17! GO, GO, GO!
The Oishi Snacktacular 2016 is at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall. Entrance is FREE!
This year’s theme was 8-bit, pixelated games. Wow, throwback to the days of good old Super Mario. And Flappy Bird. There are several booths you can play, more details on the booths, prices and contests here.
They are pay to play. Register to get a free Pass to Wow card, which you will need to present at each booth to get stamped. Complete everything and get a FREE T-shirt!
The most popular game seems to be the Snack Catcher (P200), where you are strapped on to a harness, lowered to a pool of snacks, and you grab as much as you can! Dress appropriately, and remember, technique! Haha, I had so many plans on how to grab as many snacks as I could, but once I got lowered, all my well-thought-out strategies just flew out the window. I only got 35 snacks. J had better luck! He got 81 snacks, which I promptly “convinced” him to share with me, hehe. When we left, the record was 110 snacks grabbed!
Another popular game is the Snack Shack (P295) where you get 60 seconds to grab as much snacks as you can to fit inside your 2-ft Oishi bag. Note: you should be able to close the bag once you’re done (it’s velcro), or they’ll ask you to remove some items until the bag can be closed.
The Make Your Own Snack booth (P20) lets you pick your base from 6 choices (you can choose a max of 2 kinds), and choose 2 flavors. I chose Corn Clubs and Tortilla Chips for my base, and White Cheddar and Nori for my flavors.
Here are the Slush C+ (P20) and O’ Twirl (P20) booths if you need something cool to fight the heat:
This is a slushee made from Oishi Smart C+, the choices are Calamansi and Pomelo flavors.
This is ice cream made from Oishi Oaties Milk and Choco Chug. You can choose up to 2 toppings. The toppings are Oishi products as well like Wafu sticks, caramel popcorn, etc…
Here’s our final loot, 2 giant bags and 3 paper bags of snacks!
CELEBRITY GUESTS
Many celebrity guests dropped by. I was able to get a stolen shot of Ramon Bautista with his loot, haha:
Kathniel was there, too, although I didn’t get close enough to take a picture. I actually did not see them through all the people, I’m too short. I just heard all their fans screaming and I knew they had arrived.
I heard Maine Mendoza will be dropping by tomorrow, Sunday.
This is a once a year event, check out the Oishi Snacktacular 2016 at the SM Mall of Asia tomorrow!
