I prefer to heat them up in the microwave a little and spread them with a bit of cream or butter, but that’s just me. 😄 They are soft & moist enough on their own.
If I’m feeling like having a fancier dessert, I slice a loaf into cubes, put them into a bowl with some ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate, strawberry and other syrups, cherries, and whatever else I feel like putting in! Saw them do something like this on one of the cooking shows on the Food Network, I think it’s called an Eton Mess.
Whenever they’re on sale, we buy them because they can be eaten for breakfast, snacks, merienda or dessert. And it’s always good to have something ready to serve unexpected guests.
They actually keep for more than a week in the refrigerator as long as they’re not yet opened.
