What’s up, shoppers? It’s July – crazy, hectic June is done, and summer is over. It may have started raining so the time for outdoor bbq has passed, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy cooking at home!
I dropped by the S&R Fort branch last Friday night for a grocery run before heading home, but these products and promos will also be available at your nearest S&R branch nationwide.
S&R COOKWARE SALE
S&R has an ongoing cookware sale featuring favorite food lifestyle brands like Food Network, epicurious, Denmark, Rachael Ray, Kitchen Classics, etc… so if you’ve been missing these in your life, take a look at the items below!
This epicurious 11-pc Hard Anodized Cookware Set is 50% OFF! From P5,999, it’s now only P2,999! I bought some epicurious cookware during last year’s Member’s Treat and I am really happy with them. Matibay talaga, very solid. Love cooking with them.
The set includes:
- 1-qt. saucepan with lid
- 2-qt. saucepan with lid
- 4-qt. saucepan with lid
- 8-qt. stock pot with lid
- 8″ open fry pan
- 10″ open fry pan
- Stainless steel universal steamer insert (fits 1.5 and 2.5 qt. saucepans)
This is practically everything you need when you’re filling out a new kitchen: you have something for boiling, frying, steaming, sauteing, braising, and making soups. Some other features of this set are:
- Heavy-gauge hard anodized aluminum for superb heat distribution and durability; impact-bonded stainless steel base facilitates even heat distribution
- Nonstick interior safe for metal utensils and helps with easy cleanup and preparation
- Safe for all stove types including induction, gas, ceramic top, and electric range
- Pots feature a unique belly shape for enhanced heat/moisture circulation
- Tempered glass lids with stainless steel rims for monitoring progress without losing moisture
- Silicon handles are double riveted for durability and safety
- Oven safe up to 350° F
I am big on riveted handles because I find them more durable. The riveted handles are less likely to crack, become loose or fall off after constant use unlike plastic, screwed on handles which are the first things to break in our kitchen.
Here’s what the base of one of the pans looks like:
If you’re loving the look of ceramic pans, take a look at this Food Network 10-pc Ceramic Coated Cookware Set, from P6,999, it is now only P3,499! Ceramic pans are great because I find them more non-stick than the usual gray non-stick. The light color of the ceramic also looks great and lets you see the actual color of the food that you are cooking.
The handles for this set are also riveted:
This is what the bottom of one of the pans looks like. They can be used with electric or gas stoves and glass cooktops. It is not for use with induction stoves.
For more serious home cooks, there’s the Denmark 13-pc Stainless Steel Copper Bottom Cookware Set. It was P8,999.95, and is now on sale for only P6,999.95!
The set includes:
All the pots and pans have copper bottoms and riveted handles, too:
Copper has the highest thermal conductivity in terms of cookware materials, so having a copper bottom will give you faster heating when you’re cooking. You get the heating advantages of copper and the non-reactive advantages and easy clean up of stainless steel.
This big, professional-level 20-quart stainless steel stockpot from Made to Cook is 25% OFF! From P1,999.95, it’s now only P1,499.95!
This Rachael Ray 4-pc Cranberry Bakeware Set was P1,699.95, and is now only P1,399.95! The set includes one 10-inch x 15-inch baking sheet, 2 9-inch rounds, and a 6-cup muffin tin.
The items are made with carbon steel and is thicker than usual so it won’t warp, and while it feels substantial, it’s not heavy. They have an elegant-looking latte-colored non-stick coating. They also have heat-safe silicon grips on the top and bottom of the extra wide handles to provide a solid hold and make it easier for you to grip.
Another bakeware option is the Denmark 5-pc Bakeware Set, that was P700 and is now only P600! The set includes 2 12-cup muffin tins, a round pan, a bread pan, and a baking sheet. They are non-stick.
If you don’t have one yet, you need at least one of these measuring cups in your kitchen! I can’t stress this enough! Since they’re on Buy 1 Take 1, you get 2! Measure any kind of liquid using these, and I even brew tea for iced tea using one of these for less cleanup! They are heat-resistant and can withstand very hot water.
You also need mixing bowls! These Tramontina Pro Line Commercial Grade Mixing Bowls (3-pc set) were P1,399, and are now on sale for only P999! Grab them while you can! These big bowls are so useful when making double or triple batches of meatloaf or embutido! There’s enough space there to fit everything and mix.
I also love using them for making big batches of macaroni salad or potato salad. They are also not that tall so they can fit in the refrigerator if the food needs to be chilled, and the lower height and bigger opening makes mixing things easier.
These Denmark mixing bowls (4-pc set) have a silicone base that will keep the bowl from moving out of place while you’re using them. From P900, they are now only P800. Save P100!
FOOD
These are the Pacific Bay Jumbo Shrimps that I cooked on the table top grill! They are on promo, less P57!
These Simmons chickens are new, curious to try them:
Love corned beef? These don’t come out of a can. You boil the raw corned beef yourself, and get a big hunk of corned beef! Slice the corned beef just like you would ham, and make delicious sandwiches with them. 🙂
Ben & Jerry’s Karamel Sutra Core is on promo now! I need to make freezer space!!!
Sapporo Beer is on promo! Sapporo is J’s current favorite beer so we’ll definitely come back for another pack.
The Califia Cold Brew Almond Milk is less P150!
If you like iced tea but don’t like the hassle of hot brewing tea first, this may the product you are looking for! I have all 4 flavors from the last Members’ Treat sale, and this is a much better deal than I got! This Celestial Seasonings Tea can be brewed with cold water. Just put 1 or 2 sachets in a glass of cold water depending on how big your glass is, wait for 5 minutes and you have iced tea! You don’t even need to add sugar if you don’t want to because the tea is flavorful enough. So easy! The Iced Black Tea & Lemonade flavor is the one that tastes like the iced tea we are all used to, but better, because it’s real tea (not powdered). Each tea bag ends up costing less than P2.00 each!!!
Kirkland Green Tea is 50% OFF!
These organic Kohana Cold Brew Coffee are P200 OFF! That’s 1/3 off the price!
I also saw these Coffemate French Vanilla single serve creamers on promo! Original flavor Coffeemate is also on promo. They were P599, but now only P350! They are best before Aug. 2017 though.
OMG!!! These Golden Duck Gourmet Salted Egg Yolk Potato Crisps are now available at S&R! Finally! These are sooooo freakin delicious and addictive! P369 per pack but you have to try them if you love salted egg chips!
These candies from Cavendish & Harvey are less P200!!! They don’t expire until late 2018.
I love going to S&R on Fridays because they always have so many samples to try on Fridays! Last Friday, they were letting customers try these Crispy Coconut Rolls and Crispy Mixed Fruit Chips. They are delicious. The coconut rolls are wafer rolls covered in coconut cream and have some black sesame for flavor and added crunch. I love gata so I loved this! It’s also very healthy because they only use fresh, natural ingredients and don’t use artificial colors or flavorings. The mixed fruit chips are mango, pineapple, banana that have been vacuum-fried. The chips are not oily at all. Also quite good!
I also saw a new brand of corned beef! Can’t wait to try it soon. I usually see Ranch House in the frozen beef section, seems they have corned beef now:
Here’s another new brand:
TOYS, etc…
These stuffed toys are Buy 1 Take 1!
