So 1-2 months ago, I noticed a new Korean BBQ place along Shaw Blvd. called Seoulgyupsal. One Saturday, we left Megamall at around 10pm without having dinner yet. We had just finished watching a movie so we were looking for some place to eat that was still open.
Seoulgyupsal on my mind, I suggested that we have dinner there since it was on the way home, anyway. Seoulgyupsal Shaw is located across from St. Patrick’s Clinic, about halfway between S&R Shaw and EDSA. It is beside a new Watsons branch. They have a parking area in front but it’s usually full. Fortunately, we were able to find a spot.
And then I went back with my family the next weekend because I just had to share this new place with them!
SEOULGYUPSAL UNLI KOREAN BBQ + SUSHI + TUNA SASHIMI + CHEESE + SIRLOIN!
This is the best deal I’ve seen so far for unli Korean Barbecue! On our second visit, they already added unli-Sirloin to the offer.
What’s more, they also gave FREE ICE CREAM! At the end of the meal, they gave us each a Magnolia Kesong Puti Ice Drop.
So, for P499 net per person (with senior discount pa for my dad) you get:
- unli meats (14 types)
- unli SIRLOIN (new item – thin slices of sirloin beef)
- unli Japanese makis, tuna roll & tuna sashimi
- unli banchan (side dishes like rice, steamed egg, etc…)
- bottomless iced tea
- unli cheese
Parang nahiya na nga ako mag senior discount for my dad but it’s a valid discount naman and sayang din 🙂
LONG WAIT
Since it was around 10pm, I expected few customers, but I was wrong! We were #11 on the wait list. We ended up waiting for about 20 minutes. Most of the previous customers had just finished their dinner and were already checking out. Impatient, I kept checking if there were already tables available, and I saw seven tables already free, but the receptionist still wouldn’t let us in.
It took a long time for the tables to finally be cleared and set up, and that was the only time we were let in.
The waiting area isn’t that nice, either. I don’t know if the place beside them is under construction (check out the left wall). It’s also dark with no light or aircon. But they just opened – I don’t know if they are on soft opening but I hope they address this issue soon.

I like this grill! Unlike Romantic Baboy’s where the meat tends to stick and burn on the grill, this one used by Seoulgyupsal just browns the meat and the meat doesn’t stick to it as much.

SUMMARY
This is the best value unli Korean barbecue offer I’ve seen so far. The meats are marinated well, (masarap ang timpla) but on the sweeter side to cater to our local preference. You also get so many things for P499! Sobrang sulit talaga.
Meat quality is ordinary, but it’s fine. The tuna sashimis and the makis are so-so. But you get everything unli for P499 so it’s nothing to complain about 🙂
You should also try their white sauce! It’s similar to the white sauce used for shawarma. All of us preferred it so we kept asking for refills of the white sauce 🙂
The biggest issue I have is the long wait time, and it seems like they lack staff. The receptionist kept disappearing from her spot because she was also helping clear tables and setting up tables. All the staff seemed very busy. It just seems like they don’t have enough people to handle all the customers. We all noticed this on both visits. It’s a wonder how the waiter assigned to our table was still all smiles and happy!
Several times, we were given plates of meat that we didn’t remember ordering, but instead of making a fuss we just went with it and just tried them. Mukhang harassed na harassed na kasi yung mga waiters.
We also had to ask for tongs and scissors.
In spite of this, I would still be happy to come back, preferably on off-peak hours. They are open until 2AM. The location is very convenient for us, and the P499 deal is really just great value.
Pros: Nicely marinated meats, charcoal grill, good grill (the meat doesn’t tend to stick to it and burn), amazing value for money, white sauce
Cons: Long wait time, limited parking, cash only (for now)
