The realme brand is not just all about smartphones anymore 🙂 realme is venturing into lifestyle products, too!
I’m really happy about this because it’s time we started getting more smart devices with a more reasonable price point from a reliable brand. So far, the realme products that I have are all solidly built and not flimsy, so I feel confident that other realme products will have the same build quality.
It’s 2020, and life should be getting easier for us as we move towards having integrated, smart homes.
realme AIoT Products
Realme is using the term AIoT to refer to these products. AIoT is a combination of AI (Artificial Intelligence) and IoT (Internet of Things).
Some of the lifestyle products realme is introducing in the Philippines are:
- realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush
- realme Smart Scale
- realme Adventurer Backpack
- realme Adventurer Luggage
- realme Smart Cam 360
I was recently sent the M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush and the Smart Scale to use and review.
realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush Review
This is my first electric toothbrush. Ever.
I’m sorry, I didn’t know what I was missing! It is very near to life-changing, haha!
At first, I was a little bit intimidated and caused a mess. The first time I used it, it was a bit scary, because it sounded like I was at the dentist’s. You know what the dentists use to clean your teeth with? It kinda feels like that. I was also scared so only used the Soft setting.
Anyway, the first time I used it, I wet the brush, squeezed toothpaste onto it, and turned it on. Wrong, LOL 🙂 The toothpaste fell and caused a mess, haha. So next time, I brushed with the toothpaste first, brushing as if with a regular toothbrush until the toothpaste was dissolved and sudsy, before turning on the M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush and running it over each area to be brushed. This seems to work better.
After I got over my initial fear, I felt confident enough to go use the Clean mode. After I got the hang of it, brushing was so much faster!!! I normally take at least 3 minutes to brush my teeth because I am OC and want to make sure that each and every tooth, nook and cranny has been thoroughly brushed. With the M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush, I finish brushing my teeth (actual brushing) in under a minute, and my teeth and gums feel cleaner than regular brushing! Eventually, you just develop your own technique for brushing your teeth with an electric toothbrush. After a few days, I ventured into the Whiten mode 🙂
I also noticed that my teeth were 2 shades whiter, without using any teeth whitening products! Imagine if I used a whitening toothpaste in combination with it! The M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush was able to brush away the tea & coffee stains that made my teeth a bit yellower than I would like.
Once I got used to using the M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush, it wasn’t scary anymore. It doesn’t hurt my teeth or hurt my gums like I had initially feared.
Eventually, it just felt like normal teeth brushing to me, only faster and less tiring because I didn’t have to move the toothbrush up and down many times. I actually look forward to brushing now, because brushing my teeth is fast but thorough and I love how clean my teeth feel.
The M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush doesn’t have any metal parts, it uses Dupont™ 99.99% antibacterial bristles and 98% end-rounded bristles to prevent oral injuries. The toothbrush is also rated IPX7 water resistance – you can rinse the toothbrush or get it wet without worry. It is charged by wireless charging – just stand the toothbrush on the base to charge.
The toothbrush also has the blue indicator bristles that fade over time to remind that it’s time to replace the brush head.
This is supposed to be an AIoT product, but it is just an electric toothbrush and doesn’t have any “Smart” or WIFI functions. I don’t think it’s needed and making it “smart” would probably hike up the cost, too.
So here’s what comes in the box:
- M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush unit
- M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush charging base
- 1 Regular brush head
- 1 Soft brush head
- manual
To attach a brush head, remove the cap from the M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush, and push the brush head down onto the spindle, facing the same direction as the front of the unit. There is going to be a slight gap between the brush head and the unit, and that is to give some space because the brush head will be vibrating.
The M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush has 4 modes:
- Soft
- Clean
- Whiten
- Polish
Battery life – I charged the realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush first before using. Since I have only used this for about a week, I can’t really tell you how long the battery lasts. It is supposed to last for 3 months on Soft Setting.
The M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush is only 3W – if you are worried about power consumption, it will hardly make a dent in your electricity bill. If a full charge will last 3 months, the power consumption is almost negligible. The internal battery is 800mah, almost like your old Nokia phone, but 1 charge lasts 3 months.
Price: P1,990.00
But wait! It will be on promo on 11.11 and will be available for only P1,490!

The only thing I am waiting for is extra brush heads. We need to replace the brush heads every 3 months (just like regular toothbrushes), so I am wondering how much the brush heads will be and if they will be available soon.
realme Smart Scale Review
I need to lose weight, I know. And this beautiful scale just gave me the motivation to start exercising, even a little every day, because it’s just easier when you can see the actual numbers on a scale and see progress (or not).
The realme Smart Scale connects to the realme link app on my phone and somehow measures a lot of things.
It has 16 types of health measurement data:
- weight
- fat rate
- body shape
- BMI
- muscle mass
- body age
- basal metabolism
- lean body weight
- moisture rate
- muscle rate
- visceral fat level
- skeletal muscle
- bone mass
- protein
- fat mass
- heart rate
Here’s what it looks like:
Back:
I like how it looks – white & sleek! It fits in my bedroom decor because it looks simple & minimalist.
It already includes batteries 🙂 It uses 4 x AAA batteries. You have to pull the plastic thingy so the battery starts conducting. Battery life is supposed to last up to 360 days!
Using it is pretty straightforward – just step on it and it will start measuring your weight. Your feet have to touch the metal plates properly so it can take an accurate measurement.
It turns on quickly, no problems there. The numbers are easy to read.
I did have a problem trying to connect it to my realme link app initially. I used the stock realme link app that was pre-installed on my realme 7i, and couldn’t find the option for the Smart Scale on the app. Then I realized that I probably had an old version of the app, so I updated the realme link app from Google Play. I tried connecting to the Smart Scale again but the app just got stuck on “Scanning” for the device. Eventually, I decided to uninstall the realme link app and reinstall it. After this, the realme link app worked! It was able to find the realme Smart Scale quickly (following the instructions to step on the Smart Scale when told to do so). Bluetooth must be turned on.
You also have to create a realme / Hey Tap account.
To measure your weight again (for example, during the next day), make sure your phone is near the scale, Bluetooth is turned ON on your phone, it is connected to the internet, and that you have the realme link app open. Stepping on the Smart Scale will “wake it up”. After it measures your weight, it will instantly update the info to your realme link app. That’s it! You can track your progress by weighing consistently.
These are the measurements the realme app shows. Yikes! I know I am overweight but did not really think I was in the obese category, so this is a wake up call to get serious about losing some fat. I must have gained a lot during lockdown 🙁 I’m happy to see at least some “Ideals” but I definitely need to work on reducing fat. Looking forward to seeing improvements 🙂
In case you move the Smart Scale around, you have to let it recalibrate first. After moving the scale to the correct placement where you will be weighing, you can wait for a minute to let it settle, or try weighing yourself 3x to get a more accurate measurement. However, if you keep the Smart Scale unmoved in the same spot, you don’t need to do this. Only do this if you move it around.
Reset the Scale: In case you need to reset the scale, do a long press on the reset button located at the back of the unit until the CLR icon is displayed.
You can also add different profiles on your realme link app so that it will keep track of the weights of different people, for example, if you want to keep track of the weights of different people in your family.
You can also measure the weight of your pets using this Smart Scale 🙂 Yup, even small pets that weigh less than 10 grams (small weight mode). Kitty here is obviously more than 10 grams, and she is not cooperating ?
Price: P1,590.00
But wait! It will be on promo on 11.11 and will be available for only P1,090!

This Smart Scale is motivating me to keep chipping away at my excess weight, even little by little, every day. It’s different when you can actually see your progress being tracked in the app – it’s kind of like Seinfeld’s Don’t Break the Chain.
Go and take advantage the 11.11 sale tomorrow for P500 OFF each product!
