We recently had dinner at Prime Steak House at Robinsons Magnolia (Level 2). I was really interested in it for the unli steak! We saw it on previous visits but weren’t able to try it immediately, but since then we’ve dined there twice!
Their Unli Steak promo is P899/person. Add P100/person if you also want to avail of their unli Wagyu cubes. We went for the Wagyu cubes, so it was P999/person.
The Unli Steak (P899) includes the following cuts of beef:
- Prime NY Strip
- Prime T-bone
- Prime Flat Iron
- Ribeye Signature Steak
- Hickory Pork Ribs
- Salisbury Steak
- Beef Salpicao
and also includes 2 unli side dishes per person.
Choices for the side dishes are:
- plain rice
- steak rice
- french fries
- mashed potatoes
- coleslaw
- corn & carrots
- buttery garlic green beans
We chose the green beans, steak rice, corn & carrots, and mashed potatoes. All are unli, but you cannot change your choices for the refills. You have to stick to the side dishes you initially chose. But you can definitely share if everyone at the table gets the unli promo.
Food Review
It’s an unli-steak restaurant, I wasn’t really expecting top quality beef. The steaks were okay. Tender and cooked correctly. Please don’t expect A5 Wagyu quality beef at these prices, but the steaks are good for the price.
I prefer steak medium, and my sister preferred hers almost well-done, the kitchen was able to provide the steak cooked to our preferred doneness, although it is sometimes inconsistent. If the steak is too rare for you, you can return it and ask them to cook it a bit more.
You don’t have to cook anything. You order, they deliver the cooked steak after a few minutes.
The steaks were mildy-seasoned. They provided some gravy on the side, but I didn’t need it.
It’s nice to eat unli-meat without ending up smelling like bbq (this always happens in samgyup restos).
If there’s one thing they could improve on, is to provide some heating so that the steak won’t get cold too fast. The restaurant is air-conditioned, so the steak tends to get cold quickly, which is not so great if you are a slow eater like me. We ordered steak one at a time to avoid it.
Sis really liked the wagyu cubes. She got her money’s worth eating the wagyu cubes 🙂 The wagyu cubes are like spongy wagyu luncheon meat, they are not actual wagyu meat chunks.
I liked the Signature Ribeye steak. But on our second visit, I also tried the Flat Iron Steak and it turns out I like flat iron better than the ribeye!
Definitely get the steak rice for your side dish 🙂
Overall, it’s a good place to go to if you are craving for steak but don’t want to pay $$$$ prices.
Vibe of the resto is mid-range casual dining. It is not fine dining.
No leftovers (leftover fee P400 per head). They also claim No Hidden Charges, No Service Charge.
Service
The veteran waiter was very attentive and really went around observing each table to see if everything was okay.
Staff were attentive and had positive vibes (smiling when taking our orders, refilling our water, etc). While they don’t have a service charge, you are free to tip if you were happy with the service.
Summary
Meat, especially beef, is heavy on the stomach, so we did get full with only a few orders of steak and wagyu cubes. In spite of that, we did feel like we got our money’s worth.
I have a tendency towards anemia so there are times when I really crave red meat, so this place is now filed in my brain as an easy & relatively affordable option (compared to the prices of more premium steakhouses), and I am actually looking forward to dining there again!
Prime Steak House is a very affordable way to assuage any red meat /steak cravings. It’s in Robinsons Magnolia (Level 2), easily accessible to me, mall parking is available (although usually full during weekends). They have branches in other malls.
