Metrobank Promo: Get P100 SM Cinema Card with P3,000 Purchase

The latest Metrobank credit card promo is where you get a free P100 SM Cinema Card with every minimum spend of P3,000 using a Metrobank credit card.

Get a FREE SM Cinema Movie card worth P100 for every straight or merchant installment spend of P3,000 ANYWHERE with your Metrobank credit card.

How does it work?

• You purchase something worth P3,000 or higher with your eligible Metrobank credit card.
• The good thing about this promo is that unlike BPI’s promo with the P150 Starbucks coupon, with the Metrobank promo, you don’t need to register to anything.
• Wait for a text from Metrobank that will contain the code. For this to work, you have to make sure that your records at Metrobank is updated and that they have the correct mobile phone number.
• When you receive the text, bring your credit card and the receipt (just in case), to any SM Cinema, show the text to the SM Cinema staff to redeem the SM Cinema Movie Card.

What do you think of this new Metrobank credit card promo?

Do you like this new promo? I like the old promos better, the one with the McDonald’s meal or the Red Ribbon ensaymadas. It’s food. When you claim it, you can either eat it yourself, or take it home and give it to someone else who wants to eat it. Keep it in the refrigerator and tomorrow it becomes mom’s merienda or sister’s breakfast. And you don’t really have to spend extra money to claim your reward. McDonald’s and Red Ribbons are easily accessible, and you most probably don’t even have to make a special trip just to go to one.

I don’t like this promo as much as I like the old ones, like when they still had the P6,000 tier, before they changed the bigger spend amount reward to P25,000 installment only. For one thing, you most likely have to spend extra when you use your P100 cinema card.

Movies at SM Cinema are at least P180 for a ticket, often more than P200 for a blockbuster. And what if you want to go to a different mall? And not everybody likes going to the movies… While we like watching movies, we only watch movies at the cinema if it’s a big blockbuster film to fully appreciate the special effects.

I would have preferred a P100 SM GC instead that can go towards groceries. But it’s better than not getting anything back from your P3,000 purchase, I suppose…

Some things to take note of:

The Promotion is not applicable to ON Internet Mastercard, YAZZ Prepaid Visa, Metrobank Dollar cards, Metrobank Prepaid and Debit cards.

Other transactions such as, but not limited to: Cash2Go, Balance Transfer, Bills2Pay, Cash Advance, Internet and Mail Order/Telephone Order, International Transactions are excluded from this promotion.

Principal cardholders will automatically receive SM Cinema Movie Card SMS codes within 3 business days from the time the qualified transactions are posted during the program period. Qualified transactions made by Supplementary cardholders will be credited to the principal cardholder’s account.

SM Cinema Movie card SMS codes will be sent to the qualified principal cardholder’s registered mobile number found in MCC’s database.

A principal cardholder is allowed to redeem a maximum of four (4) SM Cinema Movie card SMS codes per SM Cinema branch, per visit, per day.

A principal cardholder is entitled up to a maximum of twenty (20) SM Cinema Movie cards for the duration of the promo period per number of unique Metrobank credit card a principal cardholder owns.
