Best P300 I Ever Spent! Cheap Epilator Review

Spread the Love!

Kemei Epilator 1

Someone shared this epilator on the Facebook group The Budol Group, and of course I had to try it!

Back when waxing salons were not yet a thing, there was a product I saw at Rustan’s The Beauty Source (or was it Beauty Bar?) called the Emjoi. Back then, reviews weren’t a big thing yet so I hesitated buying it (it was also expensive for me at the time).

Then waxing salons became a thing here so I forgot all about epilators. During this whole lockdown, hair removal became a problem because waxing salons were closed (even if they were open, we still tried to minimize going out).

I tried waxing at home by buying a Cold Wax from Shopee (only P63), as recommended by another Budol Group member. This wax is very similar to the one used in the waxing salon, and I used the same technique (as much as I could). It worked but it was messy. Very messy. You’re not supposed get the newly waxed skin wet until after a few hours, but it was unavoidable because the wax was sticky and messy, especially when it melted. Before you know it, the rest of your clothes and towels are all gooey. The struggle was real. Yes, it was cheaper to DIY at home, but the hassle was such that I’d rather pay the waxing salon to do it.

KEMEI RECHARGEABLE EPILATOR REVIEW

So when someone recommended a cheap epilator, I added it to cart right away! It was only P339, and, using discount vouchers / coins / free shipping, it was discounted even further! Ordered it on 8.8. It arrived a few days ago.

Kemei Epilator

I tried it right away, and it is life-changing!!!

First, of course, I charged the epilator. The epilator is rechargeable.

The epilator brand is Kemei, and it only has one color (pink). It’s not even an aesthetic shade of pink but it’s only P300 so I’m just going to hide it when not in use.

The package includes a USB charging cable and a small brush, and a basic user guide.

Kemei Epilator Whats in the Box

Turning on the epilator – the sound is the scariest part! The sound is very loud and it sounds like it is going to rip your skin off. I tried it tentatively on my leg (my leg has almost no hair, but I just wanted to try it on a “safer” area first). I realized it was just the sound that is scary. The epilator didn’t harm or cut my skin at all.

As to why my legs have no hair – I used Nair / Veet on it a few times. Ayun, gets na ng hair na unwanted sila, hindi na bumalik ever since ?

There are 3 settings – 0, 2 and 2. I started with 1, and then when I got more confident using it, tried 2.

It also has a light that lets you see where the hair is, mostly. Sometimes the light is blocked by my hand or is in the wrong direction ๐Ÿ˜€

It works!

So I tried it on my underarms. Wow, so easy! Just run the epilator over the hair a few times. The instructions said to run the epilator in the direction of hair growth, but that doesn’t seem to get all the hair, so in the end, I just went to town and ran the epilator in all sorts of directions until it got everything. The best way is to kind of hold/stretch the skin so the epilator can easily glide over it.

Pain? Almost none. This is because there’s hardly any hair left after years of waxing and plucking. It’s not even worth going to the waxing salon just to wax off 10 visible baby hair, so the epilator works so, so well! Even all the tiny, tiny, invisible fuzz baby hair is gone, too!

Kemei Epilator Hair Removed
You can remove the cover to clean the roller thing.

Tried it on my sis – it works just as well!

Then I wondered if it would also be able to get tiny hair, like, upper lip mustache. Sure enough, it can! Pain Level: Same as threading. Not really painful but you can feel little tiny points of pain.

After gaining some confidence using it, I also used it on other parts of the body (pain level same as waxing) and it works wonderfully! It can do Brazilian (but practice first, try a little bit at a time and be careful)! Like, seriously. Where has this been all my life? Why haven’t I bought this sooner?

There is no mess except for the plucked hair, which you can just vacuum. No messy creams, gels or waxes!

You basically just run the epilator over the area several times and the hair is gone! That’s it. So simple! So easy! No need to go to the waxing salon (plus the commute time, gas, parking, etc…) – just a few minutes using the epilator at home and you’re done! Anytime! As often as you need to, for free! No need to book an appointment! Diba, life-changing!

Just follow the same after care as waxing/ threading.

Sulit! So far, this epilator has already done more than P1,000 worth of waxing / threading! I’ve totally gotten my money’s worth from the P300 I spent on it (and more savings in the future).

The only area I don’t dare to use the epilator on is my eyebrows! If I make a mistake I might lose my eyebrows and precious eyelashes, LOL.

The package includes a small brush to brush off hair from the epilator, but I don’t know how to really clean the epilator – like, I’m pretty sure I can’t spray it with alcohol to sanitize. It might cause it to rust or something. Maybe I can run it through a UV light?

After testing this unit and realizing how useful it was, for hygiene purposes, we decided to buy more of these nalang, so we’ll each have our own unit and if you’ll be using it for different parts of the body, you might want to use different units (one for face, another for other parts, etc…). It’s only P300 each!

Battery life – I’ve used it for different parts of the body, and in total, probably had it turned on for close to an hour in total. It’s still not showing any signs of low battery, and I haven’t charged it again since.

Durability – can’t really tell you anything about it. I’ve only had it for like 3 days. But so far, I’m very happy with it! I hope it lasts a while.

So if you’re looking for a very easy, simple and affordable way to remove unwanted hair, check out this epilator! Link to Shopee: https://shp.ee/rn9k8if

    • Try to use the epilator muna on your legs, arms, underarms, etc.. hanggang masanay ka na ๐Ÿ™‚ Once you’re confident na how to use it, start muna a little sa bikini line. Try lang. A little at a time. Stretch the skin so it’s easier for the epilator to grab the hair. If the hair is too long you might want to trim it a little first. Try lang what works best. Pag di mo na kaya or gusto mo magpahinga muna, next time mo na continue.

I finished it over several days din ๐Ÿ™‚ Maybe next time it won’t take so long kasi mas sanay na ๐Ÿ™‚

Advise usually sa waxing salon is to keep the area dry until the next day (bawal mabasa), so I just follow the same. Hope this helps! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. How do you use this on the labia part of the bikina line? I wanna try it with my Kemei epilator also but I’m too scared that it might grab the skin on labia ๐Ÿ˜…
