I recently attended the Huawei T1 7.0 Plus Media Event and was able to get a close up look at the new Huawei T1 7.0 Plus!
Most important thing first – it only costs P6,490! And if you pre-order, you also get FREEBIES like this nice leather cover (see last part of post), earphones, and a Gouache canvas bag (all worth P1,800)!

WHY SHOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN THE HUAWEI T1 7.0 PLUS?
It is the first tablet at this price range (P6,000+) that looks really good with specifications that I think most people would be happy with for an entry-level tablet. I’ve seen entry-level tablets before at this price range, and let me tell ya, you can’t even do two things on them without something crashing, because manufacturers tend to skimp on everything to keep costs low.
But the specs of the Huawei T1 7.0 Plus are more than decent! It has 2 GB of RAM (same as flagship phones 2 years ago), when most other entry-level tablets only offer 1 GB of RAM. It also has 16 GB of internal storage when most other budget tablets only provide 8 GB. The Huawei’s screen is crystal clear, too, compared to simiarly-priced competition.
It also has a 4100 mAh battery than can double as a power bank!
You can also use it as a phone if you wish. It has a SIM card slot, a dialer, SMS, front & rear cameras, flash, etc… everything you expect on a smartphone. It even supports OTG so you can plug in your flash drives and read their contents on the tablet!
It can access the internet through Wifi or 3G (H+) but not LTE, not that I really expected it to at this price. But H+ is good enough, 21 Mbps internet speed is not something I would complain about.

HUAWEI T1 7.0 PLUS UNBOXING AND FIRST LOOK
Check out the unboxing and first look video I took during the launch:
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
I thought the build quality was pretty good. The Huawei T1 7.0 Plus was not too heavy, but it felt solid. I didn’t see any gaps or feel any give. The frame is part metal, and felt more premium than I expected for an entry-level tablet at this price!
Screen was responsive. Camera seems okay. Sound was good, loudness is average. Screen was pretty nice for the price.
Another thing to take note of, for those who care, is that it only has Android 4.4 (Kitkat). We’re now at Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). It could be a problem when some apps you use might require that you have Android 5 and up. Anyway, it’s easy to fix which hinges on if Huawei will release an update.
Huawei is aiming this tablet at those who want to consume entertainment on the go – those who spend hours in traffic, waiting at the doctor’s office, waiting in line, waiting for this, waiting for that, what have you. For this purpose, I think it is an excellent product!
It’s not too expensive that you’ll be afraid to take it out for fear of losing it, and by the same token, you won’t be afraid to actually use it (bang it around, even). I am confident the Huawei’s specs will let it handle most games. Those of us who are not into games might like to watch TV shows or movies on it, or YouTube, or other videos (that microSD slot sure is handy!). You can even read a book on it! This Huawei T1 7.0 Plus has a blue light filter which will help prevent eye strain.
Battery life is supposed to last up to 8 hours of web browsing (9gag is really better on a bigger screen than your phone!), 12 hours of video playback, and 20 hours of voice calls!
As for me, I can definitely se myself using it as a daily entertainment hub that I can just drop in my bag and go. I can keep up with my favorite websites, watch some YouTube, or catch up on my reading while waiting (LOL, there is always some waiting going on in Metro Manila life…). I can do all this without worrying about draining my main phone’s battery. Now, if only they will release a 9.7-inch version so I can read my e-magazines there, too!
All in all, I was very impressed with the specs and build quality of the Huawei T1 7.0+, all for only P6,490! And if you factor in that you also get the leather cover for free when you pre-order? It’s almost a steal!
Pre-order period is from April 20 – May 5, 2016.

I have been a Lazada customer for almost two years now, I think. They are legit. I have not had any problems with them. Some orders, especially those that are shipped from abroad, may take a while to arrive, but they do arrive. Locally-sourced orders typically arrive in a few days. It’s always best to be very specific when giving directions to your address, especially if it’s difficult to find. If there any problems, they are easy to talk to and process refunds if your claim is valid.
