What are your #HairGoals? Is it to have shiny, straight hair, or would you like to try a new hair color, a new cut, or a new style?
Our hair is our crowning glory, and Watsons Philippines is encouraging us to take some time to achieve our #HairGoals.
Yesterday, I attended a Watsons hair event, so let me share what promos Watsons has in store.
FREE HAIR COLORING SERVICE
Get free hair coloring service when you buy a hair coloring box. If you are too lazy to do it yourself, or if doing your own hair color intimidates you, Watsons has set up hair coloring booths where you can get the service for free!
These booths are located at the SM Mall of Asia main mall (in front of Watsons / Starbucks), and the participating hair coloring brands are: Revlon, Revia, Bigen, Liese, Kolours, Beautylabo, L’Oreal Excellence, Naturtint, and Lolaine. They will be there until May 22.
I suggest going early and giving yourself enough time. I chose Revlon because there was a long line at L’Oreal. And what a good choice! Revlon gives a free Lip Balm Stain for every box purchase. Not only that, Revlon has a P100 OFF promo for every hair color box! Revlon hair color kits range from P395 to around P500, so if you get the P395, less P100, you only pay P295, plus you get the free Lip Balm Stain pa. I checked online and the Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain is sold at around P450-575. Sobrang sulit na!
The hair coloring kits you need to buy also depend on the thickness of your hair and how long it is. For my hair, they needed 2 boxes. The lady recommended the shade Medium Golden Brown – she said that it would be dark enough to cover my white hair.
After the hair color was applied, they recommended that I leave it in for 1 hour to make sure that the color really sinks in. I thought the kits only said 30 minutes? But the lady said that since my hair was thick and previously colored, it’s better to wait for 1 hour. Hmmm…. so this is probably why my at-home coloring tries didn’t get the hair color as strong, since I only waited for 30 minutes.
I checked the other booths while waiting for my 1 hour to be over, and the other booths mostly only had the free service, a few had other freebies:
After 1 hour, I came back to have my hair color rinsed out, and they even blow-dried my hair. My hair color was really better than what I usually got when I colored my hair at home, all the white hair were covered. So that’s the secret – use 2 boxes and let it sit for 1 hour. I usually just used one box at home and just let it sit for 30 minutes.
If you are planning to get your hair colored, think about taking advantage of this, because it’s cheaper than going to a salon! You only buy the hair coloring kit, and the coloring service (labor) is free.

OTHER HAIR CARE
Aside from hair coloring, we were also given some tips on how to take care of our hair and how to style our hair.
To take care of dry hair, there’s Dove Invigorating Dry Shampoo and Conditioner. There are also hair treatment products like Silk Secrets and Lolane Intense Care Treatment. I am currently using the Silk Secrets Hot Oil Treatment and it really leaves my hair soft and tangle-free.
Cream Silk introduced their latest, the Triple Keratin Rescue, which claims to tame rebelliously frizzy hair.
Nicole Anderson showed us how to curl our hair – hair near the face should be curled going away from the face, and the rest of the hair are to be curled alternately, towards the face, away from the face, and so on.
Solenn Heusaff was also there to talk about Kolours and Vitress. Solenn says that she uses Kolours to color her hair since she can’t cut her hair now because of the shows she is doing. So since she can’t cut her hair, she just colors them instead to change things up.
She also uses Vitress to keep her hair conditioned. Her tip was that we should only apply the hair oil to the middle part of the hair down to the roots. She said we shouldn’t apply the hair oil near the roots of the hair because that would make our hair too greasy.
She also always keeps a bottle of Vitress Hair Freshener in her bag to refresh her hair. It eliminates unwanted odors, so you can spray it on your hair so you won’t smell like EDSA, or smell like food (especially if you just ate at a Korean BBQ!).
Well, since she recommends it so much, I got a bottle and I can’t wait to try it out!
