Focaccia – just the word evokes warm, rustic meals savored outdoors in the Tuscan countryside.
And Candishhh Bakes’s focaccias do exactly that!
My friend and fellow blogger Didi from Candishhh Tales makes these beautiful focaccias.
She currently has 2 flavors available:
- Rosemary Tomato & Olives (my fave)
- Garlic Olive + Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning (sister’s fave)
For those who don’t like olives, she is developing a new flavor that is olive-free ?
Each bread is 8 inches in diameter, and is P250 each.
We tried the 2 flavors for dinner a few nights ago and it was a hit! Of course, I had to serve a rustic Italian dinner to match the focaccia. So I rummaged the ref and found some Italian Garlic Sausages (S&R brand) and Camembert that were on B1T1 last week. Woohoohoo, dinner is served!
I cooked the sliced Italian sausages with some onions on a cast iron pan – easy and done!
The Camembert cheese were heated in the oven toaster and served with some Langnese honey.
But the stars of the meal were Candishhh Bakes’ focaccias, of course!
I also prepared some La Espanola Extra Virgin Olive Oil and balsamic vinegar and black pepper for the focaccia dip.
The focaccias arrived still warm so I didn’t need to reheat them. They smelled so good! The smell of fresh, warm bread is just soothing to the soul. I placed them on a round cutting board for easier slicing.
The focaccias were delicious – not bland, not too salty, definitely not dry 🙂 They were moist, soft, chewy and springy! So different from commercial focaccia breads. Ang layo! Just look at those holes! ???
We had a happy, filling dinner enjoying our “Rustic Italian” meal. Try Didi’s focaccia! Promise, it’s miles above commercial focaccia ?
