EVER BILENA BOLD BEAUTY EVENT
Yesterday I attended the Ever Bilena Bold Beauty event with all the local beauty bloggers, vloggers and YouTubers.
While I don’t consider myself a makeup blogger, I am flattered that I have been invited to several beauty events already. I do enjoy makeup once in a while, but I just don’t have the time to apply it every day, especially on those days when I’m just staying home to write.
On regular days when I have to be somewhere and look presentable, I just do foundation, powder, eyebrows, lipstick, and if I’m feeling it, I also do some contouring, highlighting and blush, it all depends on how much time I have. Rarely eye makeup though. But, when I have to attend something spectacular, I like doing the works – eyeshadows, mascara, everything.
Anyway, during the Ever Bilena event, we were all asked to choose a look, given the makeup to use for that look, and we had to do the look on ourselves, all using Ever Bilena products.
I chose the Igari look with the high, pinky/coral blush below the eyes. The Igari is a look that looks like you just finished crying. I was given the following products to use:
- EB Advance Cheek Color in Rose (they might have run out of Poppy)
- EB Advance Blush Duo in Summer Fling
- EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick in Skinny Dip
I also used the foundation, powder and brushes that were on the makeup table. I went to the event with no makeup on, so everything I used was Ever Bilena products. For the eyebrows, I borrowed a tester of one of their new products that will be launching soon, it was a felt-tip liquid eyeliner called the All Day Eyeliner Pen in brown.
OMG! Maganda pala gawing eyebrow pencil yung eyeliner pen! Hahaha. It was totally unintentional because I didn’t bring any makeup products with me and I had no other choice but to use the liquid eyeliner since everyone else was using all the other available products.
Here’s what my final look looks like:
I didn’t have the complete set of makeup that I would normally use, so I just made do with the products available. What a challenge! But I think it turned out well. I actually like the high blush effect!
QUICK REVIEW
This is actually my first time to use Ever Bilena products like foundation, blush and lipsticks. I think I bought an EB liquid eyeliner once, because I so rarely use a liquid eyeliner that they just dry out on me so I just wanted to buy an affordable one. Oh, I also remember that my first ever eyeshadow palette was an Ever Bilena one.
EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick in Skinny Dip
I like the liquid lipstick! The color, Skinny Dip, looks a bit dark in the tube, but looks like a natural nude shade on me in daylight – great for everyday looks!
Another thing I like about it is that it doesn’t get on everything – I mean, I have had liquid lipsticks that don’t stay put and they get on everything that touches my lips. Skinny Dip doesn’t do that. I applied this maybe 10 minutes before eating. I didn’t notice any lipstick stains on my water glass, to be fair, I had already started eating some food before I drank water. But still. Also, with other liquid lipsticks, especially the liquid ones that are long-wearing and stay put, my problem with them is that after eating, the lipstick near the center of my lips are gone and I am left with a “lipstick outline” near the edge of my lips, and re-application just makes the whole thing look bad. However, with this EB Advance LTD Liquid Lipstick, I didn’t notice that problem. Probably because the shade matches my lips? After eating, I re-applied and still good as new. When I took the selfie, it was after eating and already after I re-applied the lipstick.
Smell and packaging of the lipstick are acceptable, it doesn’t have that high-end smell, but it’s an affordable makeup brand so I’m not really expecting anything fancy.
EB Advance Blush Duo in Summer Fling and EB Advance Cheek Color in Rose
The Blush Duo reminds me a little of the e.l.f. blush/contour duo. Colors are very pigmented. For my look, I used the browner shade as contour. Pigmented! Apply with a very light hand.
For the blush under my eyes, I used the Cheek Color in Poppy first as overall color, and then topped it with the coral shade from Summer Fling for that “pop” of orange.
I was surprised at how pigmented these blushes were. I had to take care not to apply to much. Several times I applied too much contour and had to take time to blend it out. So, apply with a very, very light hand! I suggest using a fluffy makeup brush to apply them so you don’t end up applying a lot in one stripe!
As for the colors, they look very shocking in the package, but once applied properly, they actually look very good on Asian skin.
As for longevity, I applied the blushes at around 4pm, and by midnight, they were still looking fresh.
SWATCHES
Here’s the swatch under different lighting conditions, the first one is by a window and the second one is under indoor lighting.
