Dairy Queen is a vital part of my college memories. Every time we go to the movies, I always “take in” a cup of Blizzard inside the cinema instead of popcorn. In fact, DQ is one of the reasons I did not end up slender. Hahaha 🙂
Last week, Dairy Queen Philippines opened its 100th store at the Gateway Tower in Araneta Center. It’s a little hard to see from the main Gateway Mall. It’s on the second floor of Gateway, but off to one side, near the Miniso.
It’s not only a simple DQ branch, but it’s also a Cake Factory! What’s a Dairy Queen Cake Factory? Well, all the other nearby DQ branches get their ice cream cakes from here. They have ice cream cake displays.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was led by Mr. Phil Reed, Chief Executive Officer of DQ Philippines, Mr. John Gainor, President and Chief Executive Officer of International Dairy Queen, Inc., and Mr. Jean Champagne, Chief Operating Officer of International Dairy Queen Inc.
Contestants from different DQ branches presented their cake designs. The winning cake design will become the official 2017 DQ Christmas cake design. Check out all these cute ice cream cake designs!
The Binibini Queens, the official brand endorsers, were also present – Bb. Pilipinas Miss Universe Rachel Peters, Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Chanel Olive Thomas, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental Katarina Sonja Rodriguez, and Bb. Pilipinas Globe Nelda Ibe.
Did you know that you can order your ice cream cakes online? One of the staff told me that you get P100 OFF when you order online (for pick up at branch). So, the P699 cake becomes P599, the P499 becomes P399… check out the order form here: http://bit.ly/DQCakeBlowout
