Last Friday night, Nov. 17, I attended the annual Araneta Center Tree Lighting event. This Christmas Tree Lighting event kicks off the Christmas season at the Araneta Center.
There will be more Christmas-related sales and events happening at the Araneta Center after this!
The 100-ft Christmas Tree at the Araneta Center is located at the Times Square Food Park (at the corner behind Shopwise, and diagonally across from the Kia Theatre). Here’s the map so you can go and have your selfies! 🙂
Of course, it’s just not an ordinary Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony! The event was open to the public to enjoy, and an estimated 8,000 people were there! The Araneta Center also prepared a concert for fans, like they do every year.
This year’s lineup included performances by Alex Gonzaga, Erik Santos, Kisses Delavin, BoybandPH and many others.
Ms. Stella Marquez Araneta and Bb. Pilipinas beauties also made spirits bright by giving gifts to children from Gentle Hands, Inc. Gentle Hands is a child and youth welfare agency meant to be on the front lines of rescue (in coordination with Local Government Units) and rehabilitation of the medical, social, psychological, and educational needs of at-risk children and youth, advocating for the rights of children and working towards improving human community life through the love of Jesus and family centered care.

And finally, here’s the actual CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING!
Up Dharma Down performed a few sets after the Christmas tree lighting.
The new location of Parolan, a hub for Christmas decor bargains, is also just a few steps away, so if you’re inspired by the big, giant Christmas tree to decorate your own home, you can easily head over to Parolan to start making your Christmas decor visions come true.
