I was invited to the opening day of Lay Bare’s newest branch at the Ayala North Exchange Mall in Makati.

Ayala North Exchange is a new mall that just opened on Ayala Avenue, just across the street from RCBC. It is right beside Makati Medical Center. Many of the other shops in that mall have not yet opened, but Lay Bare and sister chain Passionails have already opened on the second floor.
If you live or work in the area, it is a very convenient place to get your beauty services done at a reasonable price. There’s no need to walk all the way to Greenbelt/Glorietta!

The first thing I noticed is that the ambience has been upgraded compared to the older branches of Lay Bare. While the colors are still pink and green, they are in a lighter tone, and the general mood is more soothing and relaxing.
Here is what the room looks like, it is bigger than the Lay Bare rooms I’ve been to before:
The rooms here have sliding barn doors and locks. This is a nice upgrade from the older sliding doors. This looks more Pinterest-y and more secure, privacy-wise 🙂
As usual, my Brazilian Wax service was done quickly and professionally. The beauty technician who did my waxing seemed to really make an effort to make the waxing less painful. She kept asking if I was okay to pluck out the remaining hair that wasn’t removed from the waxing and other things like that. Just make sure to let your attendant know if you want *everything* removed and that you’re not afraid of the pain. And then check if they missed some hair and just ask them to remove any remaining hair you find, especially short, stubbly ones. I’m not sure if she was just worried that it might be painful or something.
Anyway, just be nice but don’t be afraid to let her know if something was missed. That missed hair is going to be so annoying so it’s better to have it taken care of while still in the session.
